With the SimpleSYN Business Version you can synchronize your Outlook®-Data at any time from any given location over the Internet.
SimpleSYN server setup
Follow these steps to manually setup SimpleSYN for synchronization over the Internet.
- Switch to your SimpleSYN server computer
- Start SimpleSYN
- Open the SimpleSYN user interface
- Click on Options
- Select „Act as server“
- Activate the check box „Synchronize via the Internet“
- Click on „ Set server password “
- In the following dialogue enter a secure personal password. Make a note of the password.
You can skip the following step if all your SimpleSYN client computers were connected to the same local network during setup as your SimpleSYN server.
- To allow SimpleSYN clients outside of your local network to connect to your SimpleSYN server, click on the link „Promote server for Internet synchronization“. In the following dialogue click on „Promote server online“. Make a note of the returned Service ID
- Click on „Save“, to apply changes

If the check box „
Synchronize via the Internet “ is not shown, please check the following points:
- Make sure that you have the Business Version of SimpleSYN installed. The standard version does not support synchronization over the Internet
If you have the SimpleSYN Business Version installed: - Click on „Advanced options
- Activate the check box „Use PNRP"
- Click on „Save“, to apply changes
- Follow the steps above

SimpleSYN client setup
- Switch to your SimpleSYN client computer
- Start SimpleSYN
- Open the SimpleSYN user interface
- Click on Options
- Select „Act as client"
- Activate the check box „Synchronize via the Internet“
- If, at present, your SimpleSYN client is in the same local network as your SimpleSYN server:
Choose your SimpleSYN server from the selection list „Server name“ - If your SimpleSYN server is in a different network, click on „Connect with a server via the Internet“
Click on „Enter Service ID“ and enter your Service ID, which you received during the setup of your SimpleSYN server. (See Step 9 above) - Enter in the field „Server password“ the password of the SimpleSYN server, which you entered in Step 8 above
- Click on „Save“, to apply changes

If the check box „
Synchronize via the Internet “ is not shown, please check the following points:
- Make sure that you have the Business Version of SimpleSYN installed. The standard version does not support synchronization over the Internet
If you have the SimpleSYN Business Version installed:
- Click on „Advanced options“
- Activate the check box „Use PNRP“
- Click on „Save“, to apply changes
- Follow the steps above
