Under Windows Vista® or newer SimpleSYN will register all required firewall rules for network profiles automatically. They will, however, only be activated in the private profile “Home network / Work network”.
If the current network profile is set to “Public network “ or “Domain network”, the Windows Firewall will not give clearance. Recategorize your network as “Home Network / Work network” or give SimpleSYN clearance in the Windows® Firewall manually by activating the SimpleSYN firewall rules in the corresponding network profile (How to manually give SimpleSYN clearance in the Windows Firewall).
How to recategorize your network
Important: Do not change your network profile to “Home or work (private) networks” if you are currently part of an unsafe network, such as a public hotspot.
Please note: If your current network profile is a network-domain , you cannot recategorize your network. Please contact your system administrator.
