| Step 2) Configuration of the client computers |
In the next step you configure all the client computers. Choose the entry “This is a SimpleSYN client computer”. In the following drop down list which is called “Server computer name” all found PCs in your network will get listed up. Please choose from there your configured main computer (server) or enter the server computer name yourself. After that the connection to the main computer will get controlled.
Hint: The server computer name is the NET BIOS name, alternatively the DNS name for the server.
The server computer name will be shown to you during the setup of the main computer (server) at the end of the configuration wizard.
After a connection to the main computer (server) has been made you can choose in the following page the Outlook folders that are meant to get synchronized automatically. Click in the checkbox before the folder to define the direction of the synchronization. If the arrow points in both directions then the chosen folder gets synchronized by the server as well as by the client. Another click changes the direction of the synchronization. If the arrow points to the left then the folder gets synchronized by the server only to the client. If the arrow points to the right then the folder gets synchronized only by the client to the server.
After the selection of the folders please click on “next” to finish the setup. After this SimpleSYN is immediately available for the first synchronization.
Detailled information concerning the configuration can be found in the section Settings for the synchronization.
